Get excited for Friday, July 26th when The Mexico Public Library will host an American Girl Tea Party for girls, ages 6-11. The event will be held at 1:00 PM at the Calvin Lyons Hall, next door to the Library. Those attending will meet American Girl ADDY, and travel back in time to the 1860's U.S. Civil War Era. Addy was an African American Girl who lived during that era and along with her Family, was a slave on a southern plantation. Girls who attend will work on a craft and participate in activities from that era. A tea party, with real china cups, and light refreshments will be enjoyed by the girls. Also….every girl who attends may enter a drawing to win a miniature collectible ADDY doll, and introductory book, Meet Addy. Come join in the fun! Also, any American Girl dolls are invited to attend with their owners. Although not necessary, girls are invited to dress in the style of clothing that was popular for girls in the 1860s or to just dress in the clothing style of 2013. RSVPs are encouraged and appreciated by Tuesday, July 23rd. For more info, please call the Library at 364-3281 or inquire at the Circulation Desk.
