"Pop up" house tours
The Paris Hill Community Club is hosting a "Pop Up" House Tour on Founder's Day, July 20, 2013 from 11 am to 4 pm. This house tour will begin at 57 Lincoln Street where tickets can be purchased the day of the event. After touring this restored 1840 Greek Revival with a rescued post and beam barn, you will be given a map and the locations of the three other village homes. The concept of a "pop up" event is that it appears briefly and in rather surprising ways. Our version is to surprise you with two old favorite Paris Hill homes, and then wow you with two unique homes never before seen by the public. All proceeds will benefit the 1850 Academy Restoration Fund. This fund is used to restore and continue the maintenance of this iconic structure. A schoolhouse from 1809 - 1850, the Academy has been the center of village social life for decades. Recent restoration efforts focused on the foundation which was completed in 2012. Next up is painting the exterior and continuing to work on interior wall repair and painting. This building has been completely maintained and restored through community involvement and fundraisers. The Academy is now ready for event rentals. We offer reasonable rates for weddings, parties, meetings, concerts and plays. Stop by on Founder's Day and see this unique venue. Take a tour and plan your next event. Contact Wendy Penley at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 207 743-2004. Come spend the day on Paris HIll on July 20 and enjoy our Founder's Day celebrations. The common will be alive with food, entertainment and vendors. The Bahre family will again open their car barns for the 35th Annual Classic Car Show, and Community Club welcomes you into three of our most beautiful homes.
