Auction, Turkey Dinner and Wine Presentation in West Farmington West Farmington: Franklin County Soil & Water Conservation District invited Commissioner Whitcomb and the USDA - NRCS Assistant State Conservationist, Pauline Pare to attend their 66th annual meeting, public super and silent auction. Walter Witcomb, Commissioner of Agriculture, Forestry, and Conservation, will give a presentation on the progress of the merger of the three departments on Friday, April 12th at the West Farmington Grange Hall. The evening will commence with a silent auction beginning at 5:15 and ending at 6:15 p.m.   A tasty public turkey dinner will be enjoyed beginning at  5:30 -and ending with the auction at 6:15. The auction  will offer items that include maple syrup, snow shoes, long handled step stool, pecan pies, whoopie pies, fudge, and cookies  as well as certificates for:  firewood, #2 heating oil, $100 Hammond Lumber, Fitness Center, wood pellets, $70 total food or gas certificates, fair passes, complete dental, ski lift tickets, and wood chips. The evening will end with a presentation on locally grown grapes and wine production at "A Wild fern Winery" in Farmington. Please join us.  This whole evening can be enjoyed by pre-registering at $10 per person made payable to and mailed to or dropped off at FCSWCD - 107 Park Street in Farmington.  All paid pre-registered guests will go into a drawing for "A day of rest" which includes Narrow Gauge movie passes, lunch at Homestead Bakery in Farmington, dinner at Calzolaio Pasta Company in Wilton, and flowers from Riverside Greenhouse in Farmington.
