Annual Winter Wonderland
The Town of Wilton Events Committee is busily preparing for the November 30th “Wilton’s Winter Wonderland”. This holiday affair is from 5-7pm starting with a Cocoa Social at Key Bank on Main Street in downtown Wilton. Santa will arrive by 5:30 to light the town tree with caroling and music. At 6pm, Damon Photography will offer portraits with Santa and his elves and the Wilton Library will be open for children’s crafts and face painting.The Events Committee is also doing a kids winter clothing collection. A large gathering box will be at the Damon Photography Studio on Main Street starting November 19th through December 1st. These new and gently used winter clothes & boots will be distributed to needy kids at the Wilton Schools.Wilton’s Winter Wonderland also includes memorial wreaths hung about the village and charity Christmas trees that are displayed in town and then donated to families selected by the thoughtful people at Care & Comfort. Memorial wreaths can be purchased through the Wilton Boys Scouts by contacting Ray Jacques at Wilton Hardware at 645-2266.Charity trees can be purchased by contacting John or Corey Black at Rocky Hill Landscaping at 645-5381. These trees are $28 and include a new tree stand. Your tree will be delivered to its display across from Wilton Hardware on November 26th and will require lights to be strung by November 29th. Decorations for the tree should be bagged and brought to Wilton Hardware and will be delivered with the tree to the charity family a week before Christmas.The Wilton Events Committee consists of Stacey Damon, Tammy Mayhew, Corey Black, Hilary Casey, Katrina Fay & Mike LeClair.
